Comments:I would like to thank Polly for the information she passed on to me. I have written to Pete and hope that he will reply to my missive. I would LOVE to hear Mr. Chamberlain sing other songs rather than the ones from Slipper and the Rose.
I did hear some of the songs thanks to this website. And I do love the way Mr. Chamberlain sings Love Me Tender. Much better than Elvis in my opinion. I was never much of an Elvis fan anyway. Elvis could sing...but...I think Mr. Chamberlain was the better singer. But then that is just MY opinion.

Comments:I wanted to pass along some information to "Nora" who posted a lovely entry in the Guest Book about why Richard Chamberlain still has her heart after all these years. (You are in good company here!)
You wrote about how much enjoyment you have derived from listening to Richard sing the songs from Slipper and the Rose, and I wanted to let you know where else you can listen to him sing, in case you aren't aware of what is available through this web site.
Pete, (newpiggins@hotmail.com) has a wonderful CD he put together that includes many of the songs Richard recorded for his albums produced during his days as Dr. Kildare. Until I ordered this CD from Pete, I also just kept playing The Slipper and the Rose CD over and over, just for the unique opportunity to hear that exquisite voice in song. The first time I was able to hear Richard perform the many songs from the sixties that are on this CD, I was beyond impressed..........like you, I simply loved him as an actor, and had no idea he also possessed such extraordinary talent as a singer. The CD includes TRY TO REMEMBER, HUSH, HUSH SWEET CHARLOTTE, and the sensational ALL I DO IS DREAM, and I WILL LOVE YOU, and many others. If you love to listen to him sing, as many of us do, you really should e-mail Pete and get the details, especially since Richard's musical recordings have yet to be professionally released on CD. I have ordered many things from Pete, and he is always reasonable, prompt, and professional, and a real asset to all Richard Chamberlain fans.
You may or may not know that Larry King interviewed Richard Chamberlain in two extensive interviews........one done in 1996, and one done during his promotional book tour, in 2003. These two interviews are also items that Pete offers, and I highly recommend them .......besides The Thorn Birds, these two interview CD's are my most prized possessions in my growing Richard Chamberlain library. Both interviews are marvelous, and make you feel like you are spending personal time with a very cherished friend, but the 2003 interview is especially noteworthy because of the VERY contagious happiness that Richard displays here! Having just "come-out" a mere 3 months before this interview, Richard is still basking in the joyful glow of his new found freedom, and this childlike joy is written all over his beautiful face throughout this 60 minute conversation with Larry. His infectious happiness is so gratifying to see, and I have even found myself smiling back at the screen when I watch this.......I really can't recommend this highly enough to ANY fan who treasures the unique and multi-talented, Richard Chamberlain.

Comments:What a fantastic and informative website Darren!
I hope I am not being to bold in saying that Mr. Chamberlain is my "first love". I "found him" when I saw him in the Three Musketeers. While everyone was ga-ga over Michael York (handsome yes, but he can't hold a candle to Richard) I had eyes only for Aramis.
I was 16 then. I vaguely remember him in Dr. Kildare. However, at that time I was only 5 or 6 and more interested in playing with my dolls than in watching a Television series. It was, however, my older sisters favorite program and I do remember her gushing about how handsome Dr. Kildare was.
The one thing I DIDN'T know after seeing the Three Musketeers was that Richard could SING. My god! What a WONDERFULLY powerful voice! As far as I'm concerened that man can out sing the birds! I discovered this awesome ability of his when I saw him in THE SLIPPER AND THE ROSE. If I had not already been head over heals in love with him, (such a cliche but true in my case)I would have fallen for him then!
I've always been a sucker for the Cinderella tale. My favorites were Disney's and Rogers and Hammerstein's version with Leslie Ann Warren and Stuart Damon...that is until I saw THE SLIPPER AND THE ROSE.
By far Slipper is the BEST Cinderella story ever made, as far as I'm concerened, due in GREAT part to Richard's portrayal of Prince Edward. I never tire of hearing him sing "She danced with me." NEVER. And in my imagination I am Cinderella at the ball dancing with him. I also loved his singing "What a wonderful thing to See," and "Secret Kingdom".
I've only recently found out (thanks to your website Darren) that Richard was in the theatrical versions of SOUND OF MUSIC and MY FAIR LADY. I WISH so much that I had seen him as Captain von Trapp and Professor Higgins as I LOVED both films and having heard Richard sing in the Slipper and the Rose, feel that he could definately out sing Christopher Plummer AND Rex Harrison. I would LOVE to hear him sing again. Especially songs from two of my favorite musicals!
Also thanks to your website I discovered, much to my delight, that Richard is a SUBERB artist! AND he lives in Hawaii to boot! A favorite place of mine, having lived there for 3 years in the early 80's. One of my favorite pieces that he painted is "Birth of a Rainbow." But all his paintings are
I NEVER realized what a multi-talented man he is! He can act, sing, dance, paint and write! I haven't read his book as of yet, but will SOON. I've read an excerpt from it and from what everyone else has said it sounds like one I will not be able to put down until I've finished it. I hope that after reading the book you will not mind if I make another entry into your Guestbook with my opinion of his autobiography.
I have ALMOST seen all of Richards movies. I've seen the majority of them but very few of the earlier ones. So I'm re-introducing myself to my "first love" by renting or buying his earlier films. Which includes ANYTHING before THE THREE MUSKETEERS. If they release Dr. Kildare to DVD I will DEFINATELY purchase the series.
Someone in one of the other entrys stated that it was a shame we get older. Richard has aged well. I find it extremely difficult to believe he is 72 because he certainly doesn't look it.
He's STILL a handsome man. He has one of those faces that you never tire of looking at no matter HOW old the person becomes. I've heard people say how well Sean Connery looks. How well Harrison Ford has aged over the years, but in my book, neither of these men can stand up to how well Richard STILL looks.
I'm glad this website exists Darren and I hope that Richard reads the entrys. I'm a little embarrassed by admiting that he's my "first love" and that I'm STILL in love with him and yet I'm also glad that this website exists because I am not the ONLY one who loves the man and I can feel free to admit it and not feel so out of place in doing so. He's the ONLY actor I TRULLY fell in love with. I've "liked" other actors, admired them even but never actually LOVED them.
I wish Richard ALL the best. I look forward to seeing any movies he does in the future and look forward to reading any updates here. It is a WONDERFUL site Darren. Thank you SO much for creating it!

Comments: Richard said in his 2003 book he was interviewed by Larry King. At the interviews site, I only found the 2003 interview and not the one in the 90's??.
Will you be putting that up? I feel Larry King, although an excellent interviewer, was more interested in Richard's homosexuality rather than the many other important things in the book. i just finished it today, 7/9/06. Great insight. Kate starr, Gloucester, MA

Comments:Dear Darren, Being a relative newcomer to the Richard Chamberlain website; I really love this online service; particularly "The Thorn Birds" music in the background which I feel is a signature stamp for Richard.
It is informative and fun; and I enjoy sharing thoughts and feelings with others who share a common interest; as well as material of the past, present and future. It is definitely a building block collection of memorabilia and gives one the opportunity to learn about each other and additional tidbits of Richard Chamberlain as well.
Plus; the website gives you a very pleasant and unique diversion from life's everyday demands and stress factors.
Richard Chamberlain is the most creative; excited; gifted and passionate actor there is and continues to perfect his craft at the age of 72. I think he is awesome beyond belief and on a scare of 1-10; he's a 100! No one could ever take his place!!! He constantly challenges himself which makes him most desirable!!!
I love this website and support its longevity now and always!!!
Respectfully,
Michele Ann Nutwell

I do feel that the Thornbirds was the MOST romantic, sensual movie of all time. Comments:I recently checked out Shogun from the public library and was completely captivated all over again by Mr. Chamberlain's performance in this mini series. This was on 5 DVDs with the 5th disk reviewing how the movie was made with several of the characters relating their experiences during filming. This 5th disk was delightful and is a must-see for all who watch this series again. When I saw Mr. Chamberlain in Shogun over 25 years ago, I was completely mesmerized by his voice, looks, delivery, and overall peformance. I believe Shogun and The Thorn Birds were two of the best movies he ever made.
