Hello Mr Chamberlain, I am very interrested in your new theatre project, "Scrooge". It would be very exciting if you could also travel to europe, for example munich, london, paris and other citys so that we have also the possibility to see this new masterpiece here in the old world. Thank you very much

I too wish people would stay out of his private life, as it is only his business. But, I also know why people are so interested. I love the man, not just the character.

Post 293 The Lady's not for Burning
Why is it that one of his best performances in "The Lady's not for Burning" has never been relesed on video. I saw it on a PBS station about 20 years ago and it was the first time I was really impressed with him as an actor and not just a pretty boy. In recent years a film version was released starring Kenneth Branagh which pales in comparison to Chamberlain's.

Post 288 a sequal for 1965'S "JOY IN THE MORNING"
Here's the plan! We start off by using CARL BROWN'S law school graduation scene, which is then followed up with the church wedding scene from the old flick itself!? Then come the opening credits in which battle footage from WW2 appears on the screen. Then in a scene using both CHAMBERLAIN & his former leading lady Ms. MIMEUX? We show the scene at the train station where their son comes home with a Filipino wife. Now according to the script a good number of years roll by, & Then the grandson of CARL & ANNIE goes to VIETNAM. This results in his also bringing home a filipino wife, too! Then tragedy strikes around the 1980'S portion of the storyline, & CARL & ANNIE find themselves caring for their oddballed Great-Grandson. Then the story ends on a happy note when the Great-Grandson finds true love with another teenager whom is not only his own age, but whom has also gotten to the point of being a teenage mother. Now my associates & I will handle a script of somekind for movie theatres, & if you can pass word onto RICHARD CHAMBERLAIN himself, well, tell him this film is bound to be more successful!?

Post 274 Nana Veary
I just wanted to thank Richard Chamberlain for bringing my attention to the work of Nana Veary, and a special thank you to the respondant who notified me of the title of Nana Veary's book when I made an inquiry through this website's message board. I was finally able to find a copy of "Change We Must," and discovered that my own path has been very much like that of Nana Veary, as I study various theologies and believe that there is beauty in all. In reading Nana's book, her words gently reminded me of many things that I had forgotten and taught me several new lessons. Her printed words seem to reach out to this reader in comfort and solace. Her words have certainly helped me re-establish my own ho'oponopono. I certainly hope that this book has another printing. Many people in this world would certainly benefit from Nana Veary's teachings today. My only regret is that I did not meet her personally. Thank you again, Richard and Martin, for your uplifting experiences which led me to discover this work; and to the respondent who helped me on my search for this wonderful book.

Post 272 Look alike
Hi everyone: I was walking in the food store the other day and this one guy was right near by me, I turned around and I kid you all not-this guy looked exactly like Richard Chamberlain about the time he did Dr. Kildare. I wanted to tell this guy he looks just like Richard Chamberlain, but I am more then sure this guy has been told that over 1000 times a year. I couldn't help but stare at him-I found Richard's look alike people-turn back the clock back to Dr. Kildare era-this man I saw was a dead ringer (I KID YOU NOT!!!!) a total shock to me. I knew of course it wasn't our Richard unless Richard Chamberlain found the fountain of youth. It blew me away!!!

Post 271 Movie
Did Richard Chamberlain play in a movie called "Young Blood Hawk" or "Youngblood Hawk"? Seems like I saw this movie many years ago, enjoyed it but can not find it now. If you have any info regarding this movie, please post it. Thanks.
June 10, 2004, 06:31:57 GMT Posted by: Fred Email: fs77@bellsouth.net
RE Movie
It was James Franciscus who starred in "Youngblood Hawke." Franciscus had also starred in the TV series "Mr. Novak," in which he protrayed a teacher. It also ran on NBC during the mid 60's, from MGM-TV. Both actors possessed similar striking, all-American boyish, good looks. Franciscus was sometimes considered a Chamberlain look-alike.

Post 270 The Gilded Age: From Rags to Riches Concert
Eight of us (plus two wonderful and patient husbands) from the ChamberlainFans group were fortunate to attend the concert and reception in Lenox! What a grand time was had by all! The concert in Ozawa Hall on the grounds of Tanglewood, the summer home of The Boston Symphony Orchestra, was wonderful. Richard read exerpts from Edith Whatron & Henry James during the concert which also featured soprano Amy Burton, and Yehonatan Berick (viola), Yoon Kwon (violin) Cho-Liang Lin (violin) John Musto (piano) and Yehuda Hanani (cello). The reception (held on the grounds of Shakespeare & Company) was great fun and Richard very graciously posed for photos with our group! He even thanked us for coming! What a true gentleman Richard is! I hope you all will have the opportunity to see him in person in the not too distant future.

I sat on the couch after you signed my book, and watched you interact with the 250 people after me. I was not surprised to learn you are a gentleman, kind and courteous to all those who showed up. Post 260 Happy birthday too!
I discovered while reading your book, that we have a couple of things in common. Jack Bailey (Queen for a Day) was a family friend, and I learned about the beauty life has to offer (or materialism), when seeing Sabu and the cobra in Jungle Book, although I'm three years older, born in 1932. Your belated coming out was a little anti-climactic, but much appreciated. I noticed that Tab Hunter is coming out too, in his seventies. Of course, his career would have been destroyed if he had chosen to do this earlier. Actually, the clandestine gay life in the 50's and 60's lent a lot of allure to our "forbidden passion", and wouldn't have been half as much fun if we were 'accepted', and didn't have to seek 'backstreet' affairs. It must have been a real grind to be closeted and so famous and admired! You had great role models though, Randolph Scott, Tyrone Power, Errol Flynn etc. If only you had known!
