Post 399 Portrait : The Woman I Love
Thanks to Pete, I recently received the controversial film, The Woman I Love, starring the versatile and magnificent Richard Chamberlain. What a surprise! This rare and difficult to find film was amazingly clear. I have wanted to see it for many years, because RC, always very hard on himself as a young actor, had openly regretted making this film. Just as I suspected, his criticism of himself was completely unwarranted and resulted from the surprising "fury of the royals." RC had enjoyed the love and admiration of the monarchy, as the young intern Dr. Kildare, and when they displayed their fury toward him for daring to play Edward, it made a heart-felt impression on the tender-hearted actor. Unfortunately, the truth had not been contronted, for Richard Chamberlain was actually quite magnificent as Edward VIII. The make-up artists brilliantly reshaped his eyebrows, making him almost a dead ringer for the slender, handsome and classy, abdicating royal. RC captured the somber moods, deep unhappiness, and rather bland personality of Edward with amazing perfection. He couldn't go wrong portraying this man. He has run the gauntlet when playing far more passionate and conflicted roles than this, and is such an exceptional actor, you almost believe you are in a room, observing the tormented King, as he overtly displays his repertoire of emotions. Faye Dunaway was also magnificent as the lovely and most captivating Wallis Warfield Simpson. She and Richard co-starred in many of his early films, but never have they been so marvelously magnetic together. Richard was so convincing in his sorrow, it was easy to forgive the tormented King for his obsessive indiscretion. He made you see that Edward had always been discontent as a privileged member of the Monarchy.
His heart was far from his birthright of responsibility, and he had wanted to be like "everyone else," since a small child. He hated the pompous ceremonies, costumes, and rituals that accompanied the role of King. He was distraught with the "heavy burden" imposed upon him, by the order of his birth. His innate rebellious heart had been searching for a way out...long before it fell in love with the commoner and twice divorced Wallis Simpson. How unfortunate that this enjoyable and well-acted movie lay languishing in a vault for so many decades. I actually came away with a greater admiration for Edward VIII. How wonderful that he found the courage to be true to himself. He could not carry out the heavy responsibilities and discharge his duties as King, without the woman he loved. He refused to live a lie, and with great tenacity and strength, he changed HIS destiny and HISTORY...with one major leap of courage and conviction. *****If you haven't seen this wonderful movie...you must contact Pete...and for a contribution to this wonderful website...you will own a most amazing and well done film...acted quite brilliantly...by our own Richard Chamberlain. Thank you Pete!!

Post 396 To my dearest Richard
I cant even begin to tell you Richard, just how often I think about you. I also have been in love with you since I was 12 yrs old. I know you live in Hawaii, which Ive never been, and I know who you live with:) My friends would say to me, my god Robin, get over it! You know his life style. I would just reply back to them, well that's because the poor man never met me:) I have always wanted to meet a man three fold, a man like Richard Chamberlain, Kenny G, and James Taylor all rolled in to one! Ha! Where would we be without our dreams and our fantasies. I heard though that there for a while you have been deeply saddened. I think its because , even with all your accomplishments, you truly have never come to terms with your spiritual side. We all have a spiritual need, rather we recognize it or not. I am such a caretaker by nature, Richard, always wanting to fix people. Iv'e been a minister now for over 25 yrs. I know you heard of us. We are in 230 countries worldwide. And Hawaii is covered quite often. Do me a favor dear, the next time a couple of my brothers and sisters come to your door, listen to them. And if you ever do show up in tannersville, pa, and visit that house, you better stop off in good old lancaster county, and have some amish cooking:) love always Robin Kitowski

There are no plans to release it in the UK. But titles often appear on the schedules without any prior notice. It just depends on whether someone buys the licence to distribute this particular title.

Post 385 Grateful thanks
I have tried for a long time to contact Richard in some way, but I have never managed to find it. When I read all the messages and tributes to him I realise I am among thousands to whome he means so much. I am ver grateful for my DVD's of The Slipper and The Rose, Shogun, The Thornbirds and others in my collection. As I am the same age as Richard the dates of all his films cover so many years for me, and are very important. I do hope it will be possible one day.

Post 384 New Years Wishes
Just wanted to extend my best wishes to you for a healthy, and prosperous New Year, and to thank you again for all the marvelous work you do on this web site, and for keeping us informed and up to date on the career of Richard Chamberlain.
I am particularly grateful for the many discs that Pete has found, and made available to us to purchase at such reasonable rates. I personally have spent many happy hours this past year watching these rare finds, and always appreciate how honest you are in describing the condition of the discs--you tell it like it is, and always deliver on what you promise! I recently received from you two great gems--The Regis and Kathie Lee interviews with Richard, and the sensational program "The Lady's Not For Burning." You deserve particular recognition for locating the latter--this highly acclaimed work of Richard's has been most difficult to find, but you succeeded where others have failed, so congratulations to you for that!
I look forward to purchasing more of your terrific finds in 2006--I especially enjoy all the interviews you have found of Richard throughout the years, and hope you keep finding more of these treasures! As wonderful as he is in all his many productions, I take special pleasure in seeing Richard in the unrehearsed settings of an interview, where his natural charm, grace, and charisma, are on full display!! With Warmest Best Wishes, Polly Moreno

Post 381 nostalgia
I'm amazed and yet not really - I thought it was only I who had held on to the memory of Dr Killdare and then developed a wonder for the acting talents and excelent story telling of Richard Chamberlain. As recently as this 2005 Christmas, have Icome accross the Thorn Birds DVD and realised how fresh this is and how wonderfully it was acted. I would like to add my name to the list of life long fans of Richard Chamberlain. I feel proud to have been born in 1954 at a time of Dr Kildare and to have been present again when the important tv dramas and films were on our screens. RC is my favourite actor of all time. I think he must be a truely lovely person. I intend to buy his autobiography. I wonder why he is known as Richard but christened George? My father was called George so I think of this as a good name.I wonder if RC has stacks of signed photographs that he sends off when requested? I guess he must be overwhelmed with fan mail and in his time he must have broken many a female heart. Its a good thing that he has been true to himself. I would like to say 'thank you' Richard Chamberlain for all the wonderful performances your life has given to others. I love language (I am a speech and language therapist) Richard has a lovely voice I too love singing but I mean he has a lovely speaking voice. I wish you continued happiness and hope you truely are aware that you have enriched and touched so many lives through the stage and screen. ( I have never been lucky enough to see you on stage). Gwen

I have nearly completed my Richard Chamberlain library, thanks to Darren, Pete and the wonderful fans who have shared their findings with me. What special joy it has given me, to share my bounty with them in return. I have met some wonderful people, and corresponded with Richard Chamberlain himself, receiving two warm and friendly letters in his own handwriting. What a charming, friendly and inspirational man he has proven to be.
I am heading out to do the last of my Christmas Shopping in a few minutes, but first I had to stop and send my Christmas gift to TV Heaven in thanksgiving for all the joy and assistance this wonderful website has given me. Please click on the DONATIONS button, and send a cash gift toward the maintenance of this truly professional, informative, and inspirational website. Last night I received an e-mail from an avid fan of Hayley Mills, who talked with her backstage in Kansas City after her recent stage performance there. She announced that she will tour with Richard Chamberlain in On Golden Pond next year. He was certain that she would be his leading lady! I have a wonderful video of Richard Chamberlain and Hayley Mills acting together in an old episode of The Andy Williams Show from the 1960's. They had wonderful stage chemistry together, and the skit was a real delight! I am excited to see them together again in On Golden Pond. Hayley Mills is a very attractive woman for her age, and has the clout and credentials to make an exciting leading lady to Richard Chamberlain. Great News!! Warmly, Judy Crocker

Post 358 RICHARD SINGS - 20 LOVE SONGS - LET'S SHARE OUR LOVE FOR TV HEAVEN
I want to express my deepest appreciation for this informative and professional website. Not only is TV HEAVEN, my favorite Richard Chamberlain conduit, but the webmaster, Darren Smith, is always very friendly and helpful! No matter, what I need or ask of him, he always delivers a helpful and friendly response. Thank you Darren! I appreciate most, his willingness to supply resources for fans, who search endlessly and diligently for Richard Chamberlain's works. Some of them are inordinately rare, impossible to find, or perhaps, as I have discovered, just an arms length away, in the hands of a fellow fan. Pete, at newpiggins@hotmail.com - a faithful researcher, and RC fan, has been a relentless resource, for these hard to find materials, helping me, on more than one occasion, to fill in the missing pieces to my RC library. Thank you Pete! He recently helped me find "The Christmas Messenger" (very rare, and hard to find early RC film), and has access to "Hamlet," one of RC's most noteworthy performances...and now my most loved RC treasure - 20 lovesongs on CD...sung by our romantic RC. These are his best-loved songs from the 60's and 70's. It is truly a gem to experience. All I can say is...lucky for Pat Boone, Paul Anka, Tom Jones, etc, (RC's contemporaries)...that RC decided to concentrate on acting and not singing...had he decided differently...they would have been blown off the charts. RC is THAT GOOD!! To hear his enchanting "Stella By Starlight," and the romantic "To Rome With Love," was not only nostalgic, but these memorable songs, gently roll over your heart, like silky smooth mousse, slides over your tongue. Magnificent!! When RC's rich baritone voice, croons so sweetly and romantically..."I Will Love You"...it just buckles your knees...Superb!!! I played this wonderful CD at my medical office this week, and received so many compliments, and rave reactions, it was just exciting! Thank you Pete!! Just as Richard Chamberlain, is the kindest and warmest celebrity ever, this website does him proud. I have met some of the nicest people through this channel, and it only goes to show, RC draws wonderful, open-hearted people unto himself. Thank you again Darren and Pete for your warmth, and gracious interest in the fans, and for the great resources you make available to enrich our lives.
To those of you, who love this website, please don't forget to donate a little something to the "maintenance" of TV Heaven. If you visit as often as I do, be sure you place your merchandise orders from the TV Heaven links, so the website gets credit. It costs you absolutely Nothing!! Maybe you could give up a latte or mocha a couple of times a week, and send the savings to assist with costs. This is a website, we all want to keep up and going, and sharing the tremendous financial burden is a pleasure and special opportunity! With much gratitude....Judy Crocker

I am traveling to Hawaii to attend the NA World Convention. It would be a hightlight to meet Richard and his partner. I so admire them. They give me inspiration that this rural Minnesota man will be able to find love as well. I am a grateful brother in recovery. I hope to visit thier retreat when I am there between Aug. 31- Sept. 11 PEACE and Thanks for Shattered Love. JJ

Post 352 "Shattered Love"
I have really enjoyed Richard's life story and have introduced my little grandaughter to "The Slipper and the Rose". She and I both love this movie. It is very pleasing to see that Richard is able to work on in his craft into his seventies.
