Post 645 Joyeux Anniversaire, Richard !
Happy birthday to you, Richard ! I know it's a bit early, but I will leave France for a couple of weeks and I prefer sending my best wishes from home. I'd like to thank you very much for being the outstanding and exceptionally talented actor you have been. All the various facets of your talent are displayed in all the domains you have been acting and it's a real treat. I am used to watching your series and films thanks to Darren and it's really nice. In France, some of your films hadn't be released, so DVD's are definitely helpful. I also have very much enjoyed your "Shattered Love" a Memoir, that is high in the pile of my bedside table books. I have been deeply touched by some chapters : I have experienced similar difficulties in my childhood. Besides, I really like California (I used to go and visit my students not far from SF, LA and San Diego some years ago and I was feeling really at ease and free over there) and some parts of your book reminds me of that time ! So, thank you very much for being the exceptional and relaxed person you are. Meilleures pensées. Annick

Post 644 for Darren, Richard and Martin
Hello Darren, congratulations for the site. Very nice and well documented with photos and short articles of reference. I also read the book some mail sign of other guests and I wonder .... but they all love Richard Chamberlain or father Ralph De Bricassart?! Darren I'll you've ever wondered, after reading hundreds of emails all on the same line? Of course, this is of little importance but I will tell you that after having seen almost all movies starring Chamberlain arrived in Italy and Dr. Kildare + + The Thorn Birds, I believe that Mr. Chamberlain is one of the few actors who manage to show his face pain joy, wonder, fear and anger. Here, this is for me a true actor, the one that can still convey his own feelings at the time. So Mr. Chamberlain for me is not the Father Ralph de Bricassart but the great actor Richard Chamberlain. And if you see or you can contact riportagli my thoughts. I want to know. I asked her friendship on Facebook, but, as expected, I was ignored.I asked the publisher of the book by his friend Martin Rabbett "Forever Buster" if it was published in Italy and I do not answer ..... but there are these characters? :-))) - Hello Darren and again congratulations for the site. Post 639 Richard
Hi there, I would like to thank you for being YOU. Richard, you are my friend, you guided me through your movies in many critical times. Your book was what I needed. Through time and space, I felt your joy and sorrows, your live challenges and accomplishment. Shatered Love is a diferent kind of love, one that some humans are not aware of it. It takes sacrifices to attain that state. As I read it I did not want to finish it!! Your paintings are also expressive, energetic yet receptive and calm. Incredible !. How years passed by. It was 30 years ago that I fist came to USA from Europe! Now, I am 55. Then, you were my companion in Shogun, and I could not wait until night to see it and try to learn english at the same time. With an dictionary in my hand I would try to make sense of the dialogue and still enjoy you on the screen. The Thorn birds was and is unexplainable.!! I re-visited recently and discovered you recently. Your acting, beauty and your pure, clean eyes is what opened people hart. The eyes are the reflection of your soul, then, the kindness and understanding in your eyes is so immense, is calming and re- assuring! I live where your grandma used to live, in the same city, but now, the orange farms are gone. I had no idea until I read your book. Does your house still exists? Please write back, I would be honored to hear from you. Please take care Richard.

I just read an article in the L.A. Times, Richard Chamberlain was at the Hollywood Show, which is open to the public and where fans meet celebrities in person. I had no idea that anyone can go into the Hollywood Show and meet Richard in person. Do you have pictures or video clips of the event?

Post 637 Art Director's Awards
My 21 son was invited to be an escort at the Art Director's Awards, he thought he was going to escort Jane Lynch but just found out that he was escorting Richard Chamberlain. I have been a gigantic fan since age 9 never missing an episode of Dr. Kildare, having a Dr. Kildare (doctor type shirt) owning Richard Chamberlain Sings, which I practiced my kissing on, I belonged to the Richard Chamberlain fan club and even had cards like baseball cards. Of course over the years my admiration matured, until tonight when my son texted me that he was going to be escorting him and I burst into tears like an Elvis or Beatles fan. I'm 57 years old and never been this excited in my life. I arranged for my son to meet his idol Jim Carrey a few years ago, so he owes me big time. I just didn't know who to share with, I've never been on this kind of website, but extreme times call for extreme measures. I lost my Richard Chamberlain sings album in a closet flooding, anybody know where I can get one, I have a turntable. Thanks for listeing. a 9 year old in a 57 year old body!

Hi. My name is Alicia and I'm writing you from Aranjuez(Spain). I have been your fan since I was five (when I saw you for the first time in "The Count of Monte Cristo") and now, I am thirty eight. I have always loved your elegance, your tenderness and your eyes. But I think your look shows a little bit of sadness, am I wrong? I love "The thorn birds"(of course)and I have watched it (you will not believe me) for a hundred times!, more or less. It's wonderfull, and you too. That's my favorite series forever. I also enjoyed "Casanova" and "The three musketeers" (both filmed here, I know) When will you come back to Spain again? We miss you.I hope you will be OK and that you will continue working as an actor forever. Please, forgive my terrible english and don't ever change! Kisses

Post 623 great fan
Hi everybody! my name is Anne Marie, and I'm a great fan of richard. Icome from France and since I was 11 eleven, when I saw "the thorn birds" I love him , he's the most handsome man I've ever seen... Now I'm an adult but I like to watch films with him. I'm sorry he's gay but he seems to be happy to do his "coming out". I think he 's a great actor, he portrayed great roles in TV. Thank you for your site and for all the photos and articles, I believe to know him much... and remind me my youth when I didn't want to go to sleep to watch his tv series. At that time, I went to school and my mother ordered me to go to bed. Thank you and go on!! Bye Anne Marie
December 03, 2009, 13:43:07 GMT Posted by: anne marie Email: a.mariesnds@NOSPAMyahoo.fr
RE great fan
Dear Anne Marie, I too at first didn't want Richard to be gay because I also feel in love with him after watching two of his miniseries. But now I beginning to believe that it's for the best since he would have only been able to marry one woman if he were straight. The rest would just have to be heartbroken or dissappointed. This way he has one male soulmate and several female admires. We can still look at him in films or photos. He's affectionate with woman. We just can't have sex with him or expect him to marry any of us woman. If he was completely straight, he might have ended up having several affairs with so many women throwing themselves at him. Therefore it would be hard for him either way to commit to one woman.

Post 623 What Black Ship?
I must re read the book. I was sure it ended differently. I'll have to ask my brother for the copy I bought him a few years ago-as I've misplaced mine. Did anyone who watched Shogun on dvd get the impression that the film was made direct to TV? It felt somewhat 'bigger'! And yes, it is an epic marathon to get through, but not a single dull moment to glaze over. Which can only be commended by such great acting by all involved. The way the language barrier is demonstrated (or the lack of) during the build up of the story is executed incredibly well. It gives you a sense of perspective of Blackthorne's confusion. However the novel bridges that gap...now where do I get a copy of another Clavell classic; King Rat. Both on disc AND paperback??? Oh and Kiran, do you know Amrish?

Post 622 Chamberlain is such a great actor
I just got through watching Shogun, the dvd 5 disc collection. Chamberlain is just amazing, he is in every scene and he completely takes over the sceen with his acting range, appeal and that special x factor-the special connection that the camera captures and transmits to the viewers. There isn't any other actor that could have done with Chamberlain did in Shogun....maintain the viewers interest for 12 hours.

I have finally (after waiting for 20 years since it's airing on UK television) just watched 'SHOGUN' It is f%$kin' eh!!! What an absolute treat. Chamberlain is a champion of the people. And rumours run rife that 'Rodriguez-san' may well be in the next Indiana Jones instalment (no.5!) - i don't like spreading rumours but maybe Abner Ravenwood (Marions father) may feature. I just think that maybe Mr. Chamberlain could fill that role and walk those moccasins. If I were his agent I'd be kidnapping Ford and holding him to ransom. (oh sorry that'd be Firewall...) And Anjin-san I loved you in 'The Man in the Iron Mask/ The Count of Monte Cristo' too. -just thought you should know!

Post 610 Friendship
Dear Richard, I often wish that I live closer to you so that we could have became close friends. I can never find enough people in my life I can have a meaningful conversation with. I get bored easily whenever I'm with people who are without substance or real values. IN some ways I"m like you thirty some years earlier I can't give much of my self to lots of people either. If I reveal to much information to the wrong person, I get hurt. Therefore my guard is up. Even after coming out of the closest as a person with a learning disorder and high functioning autism, many still don't understand who I am. I would have loved to been in your close circle of friends especially Dixie Cartier. HER warmth would contrast my Snow Queen self.

Dear John, Thanks for the support. Are you too a fan of Richard? You are right about it not be real easy to talk to him since he's a star. I think it's because he's busy and has lots of other fans besides me who also try to write to him. I wonder if he knows what we say to him or about him on this message board. Fortunately on my end it's good things. I so far see mostly people who care about him. I haven't found anyone here who is his enemy. It's good of you understand some of my pain. When I wrote of my struggles, I was thinking how hard it is to be successful at relationships. Not just romantic or sexual relationships but platonic ones as well. It takes work for me to get along with my mother, my sister and sometimes my bosses in retail. It also takes work for me to fit in at social gatherings. It would be nice to have some relationships that can be more fun and less work for a change.

They are sometimes mean to me because I don't work as fast as they would like me to. I really hate them for expecting way too much out of me. Eventually they will pay for their lack of compassion to those who are worse off then they are. If not in this lifetime then surely after death on judgement day.

I really that eventually that I will find more people in my life who do look at me as an equal. Those who don't want to see me as an equal are the ones I wish to be isolated from. By the I don't hold your sex preference against you. As Richard states in his book that sex preference does not indicate if you are good or bad.

Hello mr. Chamberlain. There is someone who has got a lot in common with you and it migth be interesting to see some of her work. Her name is Joni Eareckson-Tada. She used to live on Hawai, made a movie about her live, made albums and paints very beautyfully. Wat is so special is that she is sitting in a weelchair and paints with her mouth. She is very known, also in Holland. I've got her book and her album. And I hope she will tell you something about what drives her to do what she does, so you might discover that there really is more between heaven and earth !!! You can contact her and see her paintings by surching on the internet for the foundation "Joni and friends". Hope you take the effort, it might change your life. With love Swanet, Holland.

Post 607 Interview 36
I have just read this interview and find it the saddest thing i have ever heard. I cartainly hope that this is something he has re-thought! I find it quite, disturbing to be honest.

RE Interview 36
There is an audio interview of this complete article. As usual with tabloid interviews, views and opinions have been taken out of context in order to sell more copies. This interview appeared in a German weekly magazine and has been translated from English into German and then back into English again, so mistakes and errors may occur because of the language barrier and interpretations of what was actually said and inferred. When the audio recording of this article is listened to it does not come over the same way that is written in the article.

Thank you for replying to my message, both of you have cheered me up immensley. I hate it when a celebrity is good enough to share their life with the public and it is exploited in such a way. Thank you Darren for a wonderful site, you are a genius x

Post 604 A major discovery
This is all new to me, I've read many of the messages on here and feel in the company of many great, supportive and devoted fans of Richard. I must admit that i have seen three things he has been in, but most recently i watched The Thorn Birds and am smitten with "Ralph de Bricassart" Richard Chamberlain is fascinating to watch, he is so handsome and you cannot help but love him. Since then i have been obsessed with finding out as much information as i possibly can. I find him extraordinarily captivating. I was only two when Thorn Birds was released. I am currently making it my goal to watch all of his films. Thank you Darren for this site. And Thank you Richard for being you!

You have attracted many woman and perhaps at laest some gay men as well. In a places where plural marriages are allowed, you could have easily acquired a haram. You have possed numerious souls and could have easily hypnotise your several admirers.
